1983 escort head gasket

Just found this site. Need some help. I am changing head gasket on a 1983 escort. When taking it off I put some cuts in it not bad, anything i could do to fill them. Read somewere could leak, anything to that.

Yeah, put in some white silicone gel. (I say use white gel cuz it stays pliable and it does not dry and crack.)
