ninja 250.

so i am about to sell my mini bike.i have about 1200 saved up. i am really contemplating between a gs500, ninja 250 or 500. the main question i have is. how fast can the 250? top speed and quarter? i have looked all around and i cant find that out anywhere. so ne help would be appreciated. my parents would feel my comfortable with me on a 250 so that is wy i was wandering. i am looking for something that i can at least stay close behind to my friends 650 nighthawk, and another friends sv650. ne suggestions.

Re: ninja 250.

The Ninja 250 has about a top speed of 95 to 105 depending on the size of the rider. It's quarter mile time is about 15.5 at about 82 MPH. It's 0-60 time is about 5.5 seconds. All this information is variable dependent on rider size and weather and so one, but this will give you a good idea. I personally would go for a 500cc or a tame 600cc. These would still be pretty easy to get a handle on, and you will not tire of it quite as fast. That is my two cents worth....Good luck in your decision.

Re: Re: ninja 250.

The 250 is definately a more tame ride than the 500s will give, but if you want a ride that will last you a little longer, the GS500 is a bit more forgiving than the EX500 Ninja. It (the GS500) has a few less ponies than the Kawi, but is still noticably stronger than a 250. I started on a GS500, and for as much as I complained about the bike, I miss it dearly. Additionally, I'd like to thank you for being responsible in your choice for a "new to you" bike.

Re: ninja 250.

While I agree the 250 is a tamer bike it is not practical on the freeway. At least where I am in L.A. It accelerates slow and top speed is NOT 105. And weight is not the issue. I find the extra power to come in handy so many times. I have gotten myself out of situations before they could even happen. And with the 250 your limited. So yes it is a tame bike and easy to learn on but if you live in a big city I would say its not practical. But with the money your looking to spend I dont think you have much of a choice. Good bike though.
