Greddy Evo install problem

I just got the Greddy Evo cat-back installed on my P11. The shop had a problem fitting the passengers side canister hanger. It wasn't long enough to weld to the chassis. Has anyone else had this prob? They rigged it for now, until they can get me a longer hanger. We triple checked the exhaust, and it IS the part # for my application. Weird, it should have fit like a glove. Anyone have any ideas or similar problems???

If you have a 99 your hangers on the Greddy Evo will have to be modded. Not a big deal really, they should be able to do it easily.

The Evo is really for the 2000+ which comes with a different factory exhaust so the hangers may be in different places.

BTW, when I installed mine I did not have to weld anything. The hangers on the exhaust matched up perfectly with the OEM muffler. All I had to to was remove the OEM exhaust and pipe, bolt in the greddy pipe, attach the muffler, and pop the hangers into the rubber grommets.

Thanks Boogie! I knew that there would be some modifying. But, they didn't have a long enough hanger yesterday. Oh well, so I have to go back to the shop again...no big deal.

actually, on the 99 G20s, the cat is just a tiny bit longer than 00 G20, all you have to do is to just tell your muffler shop to modify the flange on the cat for just a "little" and it'll bolt on PERFECTLY, that's what i had to do.
for the 00+ G20, it fits like a glove!

It was around $530 or so (full cat-back). I'd have to look at the invoice to get the exact total. But, that a ballpark figure for ya. I love it!

So I guess you like it?

It really does sound great and its not loud at all compared to a majority of the exhausts out there.

The only thing that sucks is that it has 2.5" piping and when I do my turbo I'll have to redo the piping in either 3" or 3.25"

Huly crap how much power are you looking for? 3" should be plenty up to 400hp!

The more flow the better on a turbo... you'll see the most HP w/ no exhaust piping at all! heh...

I dunno if they make resonators in 3.25 or 3.5" though... havent looked into it

...for 450whp?

Actually, it will make a big difference. If your car makes 250-300whp on 2.5" exhaust, switching to 3" will give you A LOT more HP. A 2.5" system will choke it.

....why would you keep the same size piping on a tubro car as you had on an NA car? I think even a mild turbo setup would be choked.

Ok, I have a screwed up story, with a happy ending. I had the EVO installed, and as I said in my first post, one hanger wasn't connected, and the canister would rattle each time I hit a bump. Well, I decided to take the car to a muffler shop. They put the car up, and we all stood there looking at the Greddy from below. The shop that installed it screwed it up. First of all, like Boogie said, that particular set-up does not really fit a '99 too well. It was a bit too long, and everything was off about 6 inches. Therefore, the tailpipe stuck out about 6 inches from the bumper, the pipe was almost touching the gas tank, one bend of the pipe was actually rubbing agains my chassis, and all the bushing fittings were off. So, I called the tuning shop while my car sat on the rack. I raised cain until they credited my visa for all the install fees, and then had the muffler shop modify the exhaust to fit. It looks SOOOOOO sweet now. Everything fits perfect. You can't even tell that it was modified. The tailpipe sits flush, and I'm a happy camper! But, I'll never return to that tuning shop again! Vrooom...
