Changing the battery on key

Can I just swop the old battery with a new one or do I need to get the key reprogrammed by Alfa afterwards?

I'm mildly concerned as it's the only key I have locally and I don't want it to lose my imobiliser settings.

Can get a battery from any electronics store, one you want is CR2032

Hi I just did what you are going to do and my car started no problem with the same key tho only problem now is the radio code needs to be put back in makw sure you have it .If not you could try with a sceond battery at you side use jump leads loosen the nuts on battery bot dont remove until you conecteach jump lead to each terminal ofyour battery cons then the same in reverse hope this helps.the aim is to keep power in the electrics.
