Re: engine swap question

so i am better off sellin my engine then instead of working one it? being that i don't have much money to buy a new one where i can get the parts i need part by part? don't think that is a good idea? and also the 99-00 si is obd2b so it will not work also there was no b16 made with obd2a

Re: engine swap question

lol ok thanks man you tried but here is a difference with obd2a and obd2b 96-98 is obd2a and 99-00 is obd2b so it is going to be the same thing as putting in the obd0 it will not work with out mods to the wiring harness and i don't know how to do that! that is why i am tring to get info on it

Re: engine swap question

and you could work on your engine cuz you dont have an emission test your gonna be alrite, so go ebay buy a conversion obd2 to obd1, or leave ecu as is.....oh is your car a 5spd cuz if so your gonna need to convert your hydro to cable clutch and thats not recommended but could be done tho other than that everything should fit rite on

Re: engine swap question

The 91 crx engine will suck more than your lx engine, and I don't know of anybody who will pay more than $50 for it, so looks like you have a big piece of metal on your hands.

If you buy a B16A2 complete swap from www.hmotorsonline.com it will come with an ecu and harness so it should be pretty straightforward.

Lightbulb

so what is wrong with the engine i think it is quick so why would i go thur the problem of selling it and then buying a new one where i got it for free and i can build it up to run faster then the new b16's but the question of the day is what do i need to do to get the engine to run as a obd1?

Re: engine swap question

well, if you don't have smog checks in your state, then you'll need an OBD2 ECU and wire the thing up for VTEC. I don't think anyone makes a OBD0 to OBD1 or OBD2 conversion harness so you'll have to wire the sucker up yourself. Also need a B-series tranny if you don't have one.
