'98 Grand Prix rear 6x9 speaker replacement

I have a '98 grand prix gt. I replaced the factory 6x9 rear speakers with a pair of Sony Xplod 3-way speakers. I'm still getting poor sound even with the new 6x9s. Should I replace the 4" mid-range speakers two? Should I get diffrent 6x9s or a diffrent amp? Not sure what to do, any help would be great!!!!

Re: '98 Grand Prix rear 6x9 speaker replacement

o and i noticed that if u have 2 different size wire groupz goin back to da rear speakers it soundz like crap...when i waz replacin da wires...i tested out the sound with only 1 set of wires ran and it sounded just like my stepbrothers...when both had the same amount of power goin to them, it sounded like shyt...but if i put it on one or the other, it sounded good...the one with the new wire even better...

I still have the factory HU. I think I'm going to have to get a new amp. and wiring.

I would like to keep the factory HU, so I don't lose my steering wheel controls and 12cd changer.
