Re: Help with location of oil level sensor?

Mark,

If i remember correctly the sensor is on the passenger side of the engine. I think you should be able to see it from above, if not remove the splash guard in the fender and you should see it there.

Re: Help with location of oil level sensor?

Wait, I might be thinking of the oil pressure sensor.

Maybe someone else can confirm this

Re: Help with location of oil level sensor?

The oil level sensor, at least on the '97 I had, screwed into the side of the oil pan.

Re: Help with location of oil level sensor?

Roger GTPGirl, Ripn12s you are talking about the OIL pressure sensor that is on the passenger side facing the firewall and you can see it from the side if you turn the tire all the way to the left. From that I hooked the oil PSI dial installed on the LOTEK, the oil pan does have the oil level sensor facing to the front of the car.

GTPgirl is right. I was just under my car this past week and removed it as I thought I was going to change the oil pan gasket. Changed my mind about the gasket as I didn't have time to DISASSEMBLE THE FREAKING ENGINE!!

Re: Help with location of oil level sensor?

By the way, I think I broke one wire on the sensor connector and I now get the "low oil level" light when first starting the car. If I turn the car off and then back on, the light is gone. I'm thinking an under-car soldering job.

And the sensor is on the side that faces the radiator.

Sorry but please check the date and do not resurrect old threads. This one is over 3 years old. Thread closed.
