Re: which to trust?
from a guy that doesnt know what a bov was, he wants to go turbo as long as his fan doesnt wobble....lets say you do buy a turbo....would you duct tape it on to your valve cover?
go to howstuffworks.com and search for "turbo". try and learn more about what you want before you go and buy a ceiling fan for your car.

Re: which to trust?
I agree w/publicenemy137 b/c there's so much more than just popping on a turbo. kits are good b/c it usually comes w/everything you need (gaskets, piping, ex-mani, etc). Remember, you get what you paid for so unless you know what your doing (and no offense it doesn't b/c you call it the "fan thingy" instead of the compressor/turbine wheel) go to a shop and have a kit installed by people who know what they're doing. You'll be able to sleep better at night.

A universal exhaust with a built in turbine...what the hell are you on? Brian's the locksmith latley cause of this guy. You don't even belong in a Honda forum if you don't know anything about how a car works, let alone the 240 forum. howstuffworks.com is your friend. BTW, Greddy turbo kits lick balls. Go FMAX or Top Fuel. However, you're right about "the fan thingy warbling", that's called shaftplay. You won't need to worry about that though, because if you don't know what a turbine is then you definitley don't have the knowledge to put together a custom turbo kit.

I think that pretty much hit the nail on the head. Quote:
No effing way this guys for real!! He's gotta be a guy who's been banned, and is now exercising his revenge by posting rubbish and laughing at everyone talking sh!t about him. If not, then please see below... As a mechanic, and without "flaming" the dog-crap outta these statements, I'm "just" going to agree and say YOU NEED TO DO MORE RESEARCH. Especially for the type of work you're looking to do to that car. Because judging by what I've read from these posts, you're going to destroy the motor in your car. BTW... Why does the Greddy kit lick??? |

Speaking of Greddy... would it be possible to just buy the Greddy kit soley for the CARB Stickers/Certificate and use that on a custom one you piece together yourself? Would cops go through the trouble to trace what belongs on what?
...That is, if they finally get CARB exemption anytime soon :P |

Re: which to trust?
I should visit the 240 boards more often, I could learn a lot from people like 240sx (silvia1)
maybe a cieling fan would work, I saw someone that had a cieling fan in a boat before... yea in the cabin of a yacht... where do these kids come from?

but if you were to buy the Greddy Kit, why not just use it, instead of buying another. you'll just be wasting money in the end anyways. and it's not like these greddy kits are cheap, but they are carb legal

Re: which to trust?
dude obviously this guy doesn't know what he's doing, don't go to a junkyard. He probably doesn't even know what intake or where the oil dipstick is, let alone a turbo or how to take it off.
