Dumbest or most dangerous thing you have done with, on, or around (a) car(s)
What is the dumest or most dangerous thing you have done in, on, or around a car or cars?
For me, it was the time i was on top (on the roof) of my friends explorer...while he was going 65 in a residential, in hindsight i don't think it was too bright.

Doing over 150 mph in a 50 zone with three friends in my 69 Chevelle Super Sport. The fines, court costs, and lawyers fees were horrific and I could have killed us all. Stupid at the age of 16.

When I was a kid,the Dukes of Hazzard was all the rage.......I tried jumping an Austin 1100 over a railway crossing.......it was a grade crossing,on a small embankment, just around a blind corner, with big wooden gates..The plan was race up to the corner, power drift around the 90 degree left and get some good air.....
Unfortunately, real life don't always pan out like the movies. The Austin 1100,if you don't know,is the big brother to the Mini.same transvers engine/front wheel drive set up,but absolutely no handling on cross ply tyres.....Islid it round the corner, fishtailed badly and scrubbed off all my speed.Which was lucky, because the railway gates were closed. But I hit them quite hard anyway, breaking both headlights ,bending the steering ,and fataly wounding the subframe mountings. To add insult to injury,as I was walking home it started pouring with rain, and I got a towtruck bill and a careless driving fine. Still I guess it's lucky the gate held together........ |

Off my ass and drove for about a good 40-45min out to boon F$#@! and I really couldn't drive all i could do was look down at the road and follow the reflectors and try to keep it in a straight line . Another time I was on the side of an suv holding on and one of my friends kinda slapped my nutz and i decided that i could jump off and start running while the suv was going about 15 miles ....well that didnt work... i straight busted my @$$
it hurt like a mother $%@! and also anther time I took my car up to 142 mph on the Interstate that was pretty F$%@ scary even though i had another 5 to 7more Mph i could have gone but it was already scary enough so I slowed it down ....that was ah rush .

2 things too...racing a Del Sol and having to beat him in order to not slam into a truck...probably missed his front end by a nose hair....2. going 145 down a somewhat busy freeway in my friends M3...felt like a baby's ass though...smooth as water man. still fun...no regrets...

Dumbest thing.........took all the wheels of my car one day to water blast underneath. Took longer then i thought so was in a big hurry to get finished. Packed up, put the wheels all back on and drove off down the road to go home. Silly old me forgot to tighten the front wheels and one fell off on the way home

Probably trying to learn how to power slide a 76 Cadilac Coupe Deville, that was fun and surprisingly easy. I would have to say the dumbest thing was trying to imitate all those rally races a had seen in my moms Plymouth Laser on a gravel road, it was fun untill I hit about ten trees.

1. My buddy and me went half-ers on an old plymouth volarie (sp?). Bought it just for a bush beater and towed it to my friends camp, where there is alot of private dirt roads and small lips for jumps and stuff. Anyways, it wasnt starting so my friend opened the hood and said he would check the disty / cap / rotor. At the time I was brand new to cars and had no idea. Hes like "Whatever you do, dont turn her over" all I heard was a muffled "Turn her over." so I did, and snap, thud. I get out of the car and my friend is like 10ft away from the car, flat on his ass. Took him a few minutes to recover then he tried to beat the $hit out of me.
Those were good times.2. We got it running 1/2 decent, and my buddy wanted to drive it, (when we drove we used helmets and seatbealts). I followed, as we always used this old beater ford pickup as our boosting / towing vehicle incase something happened. (I didnt wanna kill my mazda). Anyways, the alignment on the old car was out pretty bad, and when you hit the brakes, it would pull really hard to the right. He hops in, and mats the gas. He only got about 3-4 hundred feet or so before ditching the car. He wasnt hurt, and it wasnt really damaged, but the car was kinda ontop of these bent over trees (I have pics and will scan them lator). Ofcourse this happens on a sunday night, with school the next day, so we are out till 4 in the morning on monday getting the car out, didnt want the neighbours getting pissed, or his parents finding out. Needless to say, we made up some bs to tell our parents. But after that, I decided to not do that $hit anymore, and we donated the car and the old ford truck to the highschool's auto shop, where they stripped them for parts, and got the rest hauled away.

I think driving back to school (MTU) in a blizzard. What the hell was I thinking, could've gotten killed in that bastard. It took almost 16 hours to drive the 320 miles.

1. Riding around on the highway with my dad in a 95 Camaro, doing about 125, and then flying past a cop with his radar on...
2. Going down a residential dead end street in a 69 Vette at about 110~120 (in a 25 mph zone, not as though anyone does 25 anyway),
