Question thermostat

Can anyone tell me where exactly the thermostat is on a 99 Grand Am SE with a 3400 V-6. It has the pressurised system that has 2 hoses running from the radiator to the engine. I removed both hoses but can't find the thermostat housing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hey there, 2000 Grand Am GT here. I'm almost positive my 3400 engine layout is identical to your's. The thermostat is located in the thermostat housing. It located beneath the throttle body/plate. Also, look for the main large radiator hose on the right side; this also feeds into the portion of the thermostat housing. Have fun trying to get at it, I wanted to change mine myself, but the damn exhaust is so close to it, I couldn't get any sockets and/or wrenches in there to get the bolts off. If you decide you want to go for it, lemme know and I'll give you more details on what you can remove to try to get at it better.
