Re: need help with brakes
Brake pads are simple on a Honda. Do the obvious, lift vehicle & remove wheels.
1. Remove lower caliper bolt(14 mm) 2. Pivot caliper up 3. Pop old pads out 4. Apply any anti-noise compound to pad/shims/retainers 5. Squeeze piston in caliper with c-clamp or easier method with large pliers 6. Install new pads 7. Pivot caliper down & re-install bolt. ****After the car is on the ground PUMP the brake pedal w/ key off until its hard. Only 1 bolts needs to be removed for Honda front or rear DISC brake pad replacement. Your'e skipping 1 major factor & that is having the rotor's machined/replaced if needed. *newer rear ABS brake calipers must have the piston turned while squeezing. http://www.binghamtonlife.com/manual...es/91-19-8.jpg http://www.binghamtonlife.com/manual...es/91-19-9.jpg After you check those links check out www.helminc.com & buy yourself a repair manual - the best investment you can make for your car. |
