VW Passat Alarm Signal
Hello. I am looking for a signal from the VW Passat standard car alarm to signal the alarm is on or off (open/close circuit or +12v/0v would be best). I can tap into the LED that flashes on the driver's door, but need to build a circuit to do this. I was wondering if there was an easy place I could tap into somewhere which would give open/close or +12v/grnd depending on whether the alarm is activated or not. Can anyone help? (This is for a prototype monitoring system I am building.) Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Re: VW Passat Alarm Signal
On that model it uses the comfort control module for the anti-theft system. I can't tell from my schematics which might be hot/ground when armed. All I can suggest is to use a LED test light & check some of the wires on the module when you arm the system. There are also alot of connector pins that aren't used, perhaps one is what you are looking for. By the way the module should be under the driver's seat.
