I’m having trouble with my exhaust. It’s an Arospeed cat back. I am getting black exhaust particles all over the back of my car. It’s looks like it’s spraying black paint all over; it does wash off pretty easy. It's a 2000 prelude. I heard these cars burn oil, I don't think it should be doing this.
:flash oes any one know what might be causing this? Thanks |

5g ludes seem to run a bit rich. Don't worry too much about it unless it's growing steadily worse. Just make sure to wax the rear bumper/trunk on occasion - it'll make the soot easy to wash off.

it seems to be a problem with the h22's in general that they run a bit rich. my 4th gen blows out a nice little cloud when i hit vtec. and i've heard the same thing from 5th gen owners too. supposedly either when you hit vtec or run at WOT the computer cuts off all the emissions stuff. which would explain why they run so rich. anyhow.. thats how it was explained to me. whether or not its true.. i dunno, but it seems reasonable

Did you replace your stock cat with a high flow cat when you changed your exhaust? Cause the same thing happened to me when I changed my stock cat with a high flow cat. I noticed it when I installed my Tanabe Racing Medallion along with a high flow cat that I started get the soot al over the back of my car and realized it was because of my high flow cat and than just changed back to stock and it doesn't do it anymore. I don't know go figure

All I did was put on the after market muffler. Does anyone know how to fix this? My car is white, and the black soot just likes nasty. It looks like my car is having problems, about ready to break down, is there something I can do to fix it. Thanks:flash:

I use to have an aerospeed muffler on my car, the one with the dual tips pointing up. This muffler left a big ass black mark on my pearl white lude. It was a sad sight. I now have a greddy evo and i get a little dust on the back but nothing like with the aero. Also i put about 5 quarts of oil in my car but take out about 4 everytime i change the oil.......ludes seem to love oil...:bandit:
