idle problems when slowing or stopping

have 1993 chevy lumina and love it. It just started acting up. when I slow like to turn or especially stop it will sometimes die on me, start right back up and run great. the idle will go high and low sometimes die, but runs great. I had the throttle body cleaned and hope this will work but haven't driven it since. Kinda afraid to. It's the idling that has me baffled. No engine light comes on at all. Help. [email protected]

sounds like the same exact thing my 93 lumina was doing last summer. Running fine, then slow down to stop and the idle gets real low and it would stall. It would start right back up again and run fine. Sometimes I'd start it and the idle was so high that as soon as my foot is off the brake, it pretty much took off on it's own! I asked around about it and my cousin and my brother both said that it sounds like the O2 sensor. The engine light would come on once and a while, but would go out. There would be no difference in how the van would run when the light came on, it would just come on for a few seconds to a few minutes and then go off again. It stopped doing it in the cold weather, never stalled and the idle was fine. So I pretty much forgot about it altogether. The other day it was about 70 degrees out and guess what? It stalled when I slowed down at a red light! I'm having tranny problems now, so I had gotten a computer scan and guess what, one of the codes was that the O2 sensor is bad! Well, guess that's what I'm getting replaced before the warm weather is here to stay. I was an idiot and paid 65 bucks for the computer scan, but now I saw on this forum and was also told by a co-worker that if you go to Auto Zone, they will do it for free. Geez, and I drive past that place every single day!!!!!!!!
