lowering a 87 excel

this is a POS car, and i was to lower it. I know its not the saftest and i know it will ware the tires but is it possible to cut the springs.

i sugest you get springs because cutting the spring give's you less coil to run on thus meaning less traction and waaaaay more tire ware.. plus it decrease's the vehicle's value
