Question Has anyone bought the PT Cruiser Covert yet??

I want to buy the new PT Cruiser convertible, but I am afraid that with it being brand new I should wait for the reviews to come out. For example, how water tight is the top? Is the convertible top mechanism durable over the long term???
Any advice is appreciated!

I would say GO FOR IT!!!!! I just spent 5 days with one & put well over 1000 miles on it. As I was walking in the rental office I saw a elec. blue turbo. Tuns out they just got it and it wasnt in the computer yet. Needless to say I asked if I could wait while they put it in.
This was in Vegas and the fisrt night & day there was heavy rain and flooding. Never saw one drop inside. They made the windows so when you grab the handle on the door (inside & out) the window drops about an 8th inch. So every time a door closes the window has to go up into a slot in the rubber strip. I never even got wind noise at well over 100 MPH. With the top down over 100 you can still talk in a normal voice. Unless you are next to a Harley or ricer.
The power was always on tap. We took the PT from Vegas to Malibu then to AZ. & UT. along with the hours of strip time @ night. With the highway speeds in NOWHERE but rock we set the cruise at 105 MPH and left it there for well over a half hour. It never left 105 and we where going from 0 feet - over 5000 feet at the time.
The only bitch I have is the auto trans. It's not in sinc with the turbo. First is good but then when 2nd hit's the car falls on it's face until you get the RPM's back up. On the highway you can always count on the power. But you need to get on it for the boost. Dont take that wrong, The car has the power. It's the ATX shift points that rob it.
My review is 8 of 10 with the ATX with a 5 speed 12 of 10. Put it this way. I hold in my hand an invoice for a 2005 elec blue PT Cruiser 5 speed, black & gray leather(heated), AM FM 6CD DVD NAV system with GPS, & 17" wheels. $29,625. but with alittle work I got um at $25,800.
but 8 weeks out.
Please keep in mind. This is from a person that was NEVER EVER going to buy a new car and owned a used car lot for a few years.
