i just bought the viper 800. it was a great story too. i went to circuit city yest and was going to buy the viper 600, but when i looked at the board it was on, it said that the viper 800 was only $280 and the 600 was $350. i was just going to leave because the guy was busy but i knew something was wrong. so i told him i wanted the 800 and when he was putting it in the computer he called his boss over and to my prevail............
i got the viper 800 for $280 instead of the price it should have been, $470.
haha at least something worked out for me.
anyway the 800 has every option imaginable, it even has the optional pager too. if you have the money i would say get a viper.

Clifford are good, IMO.

I've had a Clifford Sabre II on my car for quite a while, and I like it.

No pager, but it does have ignition disable, and some other good tricks. It doesn't seem to be oversensitive and prone to false alarms, either.

what happened was that they put they wrong tag up there and forgot to add the $144 for the install. so that would have brought the price to $440. but they ripped the tag up after i left. you can run over there and check anyway but, if not i am getting mine installed on thursday and i can let you know on the price of it.

Can I ask you what exactly you are looking to acheive with your alarm? You do realize that no matter how much money you spend on an alarm... $100 or $1,000 ~ a theif will take your car if he wants it. You need to come up with a plan, a reason for having an alarm... then you can decide on which alarm will best suit your needs!

No doubt.....Compustar Alarm is the best. There is no other alarm on the market with 2-way paging, proximity, an optional air-horn, auxiliary controls for strobes, neons, etc., remote engine start, and best of all a true 1/4 mile reception distance. It won an award this year for best alarm on the market. IMO, it's the only way to go.

On top of an alarm, I'd suggest getting the Autolock for that extra peace of mind. It might be a hassle at times to put it on and take it off, but at least you'll know your car will be safe from being stolen.
