Cat Back Exhaust
I am getting an cat-back exhaust system for my and I just wanted to know what the nest brand/system is. My budget for the system is 1,000.00.

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
get the flowmaster kit for your application. Probably your best bet.

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
I think this is moslty an opinionated question..
Ive always been a big fan of the Borla adjustable stainless steel catback exhaust.. Ive never heard one on a V6 though.. They're about $1000cdn You could also look into an SLP catback exhaust |

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
not good for the V6, they depend on torque and that open exaust will kill that quick.

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
I suppose I should have read the Whole post before answering?? Please dis regard my first post, A borla catback would sound like a$$ on a V6, and the SLP catback wouldnt do you much justice either.. As mentioned, Flowmaster would probably be the best way to go.. The 60 series mufflers are tuned for V6's Or you could get the 80 series Go to this link and you can hear a flowmaster 80 series on a 1999 3.8l firebird

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
Ok, at rksport they offer v6 borla exhaust packages specifically desgned for v6's. Does that change anything that you said. Or is it still not worth it. Cuz it syas there for the v6's not v8's.

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
i put the magnaflow on my v-6 and it sounds great and was a great performance gain. the piping isnt too large to lose all the torque that the sixer has and you get a decent horsepower increase...

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
Is there a highly recommended intake and exhaust combo available for an auto v6 2.8L?

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
The v6 Borla is just the rear kit, the muffler and tail pipes, no I-pipe included.

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
I wasnt aware Borla made an exhaust for a V6? Ive never had one!
That changes everything.. They've probably eliminated the adjustable flow through tailpipe for the V6's.. Might be something you wanna look into.. The best sounding exhaust ive ever heard on a 4th gen camaro has been borla.. Some say they're over priced though.. And ive never heard em' on a V6? hey mcdrunky, ive seen some 3.8's around that'd give my stock 350 a good run for its money |

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
Yes, if you look up the Borla rear kit, it is the muffler with two tail pipes comming out, not the famous adjustable catback. I've heard 3" cat-back is too big for a v6.

I didn't think there was such a thing as too big on a cat back exhaust... of course I don't know much about anything o.O
bigger is always better right? isn't there just a point where the performance gained by enlarging the exhaust ceases to be? |

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
Yeah.. the V6's dont need as much room to breath.. As mentioned by 92RS, A larger exhaust will increase horsepower, but lower your torque.. V6's depend a lot on torque to get that heavy car movin'

Re: Cat Back Exhaust
3" is all you want to put on the sixers. i actually dont think that you can find a cat-back that is larger than 3" for the v-6 camaro...
