Help,
I have a '92 Ranger. The clutch went out. While the transmission was out of the truck, I tried shifting the transmission to make sure it was in neutral. It was in neutral but it would not catch a gear. I've now put the truck back together and I still have the same problem. I have a suspension that the shift levers nut was removed and if that has a bearing on the lever not catching inside the transmission? Thanks for your help....anyone want to buy a '92 Ranger:zx11pisse |

Was the tranny in neutral when you removed the gearshift? If not, then the shift forks are out of alignment.
Check out www.mechanicmatt.com - he has info on how to align the forks with the shifter out of the tranny (basically it puts it back in neutral so you can reinstall the lever). Good luck!
