No Heat (Burrr!)

At the begining of the winter season the heater would output some heat, but wasn't really heating up the cabin. Now, I have nothing but cold air comming out of the vents. I cahanged the thrermostat and that didn't help. The coolent level is where it should be. Any ideas as to what may be causing the problem? Would a mixture of too much antifreeze and not enough water cause this as well?

thanks,

craig

Re: No Heat (Burrr!)

All Explorers are not the same. It would help to know what year. 96-98 have the blend door problem that costs about $1,000 to fix. There is a little no cost fix that will get you heat though not fix it. Also there are problems with the valve near the heater. Check and see if both heater hoses are warm first.

Re: No Heat (Burrr!)

Try replacing the Heater Valve. About a 30 dollar part incl. tax.
