bad odor

Hey guys, its been a few months since I was on here. I have a 1999 CV LX I just got. Sweet deal, reason being that the previous owner was a smoker (cigars). The car has aired out some, and every night I spray a couple shots of febreze on the floorboard carpet. But I dont know what do do about the leather seats, any suggestions on the odor, and seats?

Re: bad odor

Maybe try wiping them clean with a highly diluted solution of simple green and water. Simple green is great on odors. Then use a quality Leather Cleaner and conditioner (Meguiars products are good) It is probably only the seating surfaces that are actually leather - The sides and backs are vinyl so you can get a little stronger with the Simple green. Use it also on the dash and door panels. maybe a light mist of your Febreze on the Headliner as well. Clean all the glass. Shampoo the Carpet - either rent a machine or use simple green and a brush - mix it in a bucket and just dip the suds. Then towel it out, shop vac it, spray with clear water, and shop vac it again. Or take it to a detail shop and have the interior done.

Its Baking SODA for odors, BTW. Good ol' Arm and Hammer. Keep an open box under the seat and change monthly, just like your fridge!
