3rd gen rear end

ok i have a 91 rs and am about to install a positraction rear end out of a third gen. iroc does anyone know what the gears r set at for this rear end???

I'm pretty sure the Iroc still had the same rears as the rest of us, 2.73 for auto or 3.08 for manual.

Your best bet would be to count.. Iroc's used a few different gear ratios

or you could take a micrometer to the pinion gear and devide 7.5 by what you get..but that's a little redundant. LOL

interesting.. But no more redundant than counting the teeth on the ring and pinion gears..lol It might even be easier

Or you can take 7.5 and devide it by what you think the ratio might be and the answer will be how big the pinion gear is. 2.73=2.74" 3.08=2.435 3.23=2.322 3.43=2.19 and so on and so forth...LOl redundant..
