Exclamation Lude Redline

Theres not much new post so i post this one to chat about

On 5th gen ludes, is it even good to hit redline or near/below redline often on your daily driving or is it going to break the engine in the long run?

i mean daily driving as a stupid example but u kno wut i mean?
ive heard some ppl say they redline there car too much that there engine breaks down

Please tell more about it are you talking everyday you redline your lude???? IF that is the case i think it is bad. Not really sure but i think after while the car cant handle it.

I do it everyday I drive pretty much.. I can't help it. I love onramps.

Just keep up on your oil changes, and check your oil everytime you fill up your gas tank. I never let it get past being half a quart low. Car is 1500 away from 200k, and still runs fine.

It's safer to redline it in lower gears than to do so in higher gears. Redlining on fourth gear is more stressful on the block and pistons.

as long as you take care of your car you should be good.

i do it all the time (and youre right prelewd, its those tasty onramps.) my prelude has 286,000 miles on it and its still running wonderfully.

to me, revving it up too much is painfull. but like Prelewd said, just keep up the maintance and it'll be ok...oh yeah, adjust the valves too ..

damn i thought my 1997 SH was getting old because I hit 100K miles now. btw, does anyone know when i should replace big things, like the timing belt? I just changed the spark plugs/distib cap/rotor. the car drives just as well as when it was brand new! i love it!

I believe u need to change the timing belt around 60k -70k
