88 Maxima Fuel Circuit

My 88 Max hasonly 82K on it. Lately, it has been idling slightly off and sluggish on some accelerations. Other than that, it runs fine and starts every time. Timing belt was just changed, new plugs, new distributor, new spark plug wires.

I checked the ECU and it is flashing 2 and 2, which my book says "Fuel Circuit is Open or Shorted".

The fuel pump is getting juice and I replaced the fuel pump relay. Still having the problem. I used some fuel cleaner in the tank last couple of fill-ups, too. I hear the fuel pump come on when I turn the key. Should I go ahead and replace the fuel pump? Or are there some other things I should check first?

Re: Re: 88 Maxima Fuel Circuit

I had thought about the injectors, too. But would the ECU still flash "fuel circuit open or shorted" if it were the injectors? I'll run another can of fuel cleaner in my next tank and see if it helps....thanks!
