Engine swap Q
Ive got a 1995 Honda civic ex, and the question i have is that if i started adding mods now such as air intake, pistons, cams, and all that and then i get a b series engine swap would all those parts go to waste or would they fit the new engine? And for the b series when i buy parts what do i look under, because some places have the parts categorized from like year and model so what would i look under?

best engine swap? While this is largely a matter of opinion, i would say a b18b (b18a was out of early 90's tegs...its good for swapping into 4th gens since its of the same years...you got a 95 so youd be better off with a OBD1 b18b as opposed to a obd0 b18a)...first off its a cheap engine to buy and swap...secondly it has a lot of potential-cheap turbo setup, ls/vtec buildup...whatever-NOTE THIS IS MY OPINION ONLY! IT MAY OR MAY NOT BE THE OFFICIAL "BEST"! (whatever that is!)
concerning the h22, while a lot of people have said that, i think its highly exaggerated. The h22 only weighs 50-75 more pounds than a b18. While this may still affect the handling somewhat, its nothing crazy hard. Most times people just say that as an arguement to support a b series over an h...

also a good cheap swap would be like a SiR I engine(88-91 B16A). from hmotorsonline, the complete swap costs only 1499. that's a pretty good price if you ask me. i believe they are asking 2200 for a complete swap on the b18b, so with that extra money you saved on the b16, you could build up the bottom end for the turbo. once again, like alex said, this is just my opinion.
