After changing the plugs wires rotor distributor cap, it won't fire. i know what the firing order is and thought everything was put back together the same way it was taken apart. the book says the plugs are front to back on the driver's side, "1,3,5", and on the passenger side front to back, "2,4,6". Is that correct, and where does the number 1 wire go on the distributor cap? Thanks.

Re: firing order for 2.8 v6
firing order should be 1-2-3-4-5-6 the cylinder arrangement you have is correct.i don't know where the #1 plug goes but the distributor has a clockwise rotation. if you line up the timing marks on the dampener while cylinder #1 is on the compression stroke the rotor will point to cyl#1. if you remove the #1 plug and stick you thumb over the hole while turning the engine with a socket or by pulling on the belt it will be easy to figure out. good luck.

Re: firing order for 2.8 v6
numbers 1,3,5 are on the passenger side 2,4,6 are on the drivers side. to verify this look at the engine from the side, one head is further forward than the other. the frontmost cylinder is number one.
