Unhappy I'm scared...

Since my last car turned out to be not what it was supposed to be, i now am in the market for a used car. I definitely like FR's balance and handling capabilities.

Now i have been looking at an 86 FC Rx 7. I think its the base model or mayebe the gxl, i dont know.

but i have heard probles about rotariys, how they eat some oil, have bad gas mileage and break easier compared to regular piston engines.

I need a reason to pick a fc over lets say, a nissan 240 (which was my last car).

an FC over a 240?

FC: Rare/Unique factor
240: A dime a dozen now-a-days

FC: More power
240: A truck engine

FC: Not much work to go fast
240: Engine swap to go fast

FC: Better weight distribution
240: Good, but not 50-50

Also, once you start learnin about rotaries more, you'll find that with simple regular maintanence they'll last a pretty decent time. Even then though, rebuilds aren't that bad compared to piston engines, since you don't have a bizilion little parts. Plus, personaly, I think RX suspension is much better than the 240s, and the 240s always kinda looked like the old accords... kindof a turnof in my opinion. some argue that the rx looks like the supra of the same era, but at least it doesn't look like an accord.

Re: I'm scared...

And about the oil compsuption. Is because it send a litlle amount of oil inside the combustion chamber , to keep the apex seals lubricated. Don't freak about it do!!

RX have more Potencial!!

Re: I'm scared...

Oil consumption is no big deal. What's $5 in oil every 1000 miles or so?
