Fitting an MP3 CD player to a Laguna?
As this is my first post here. Hi to everyone
![]() I didn't post this in the Laguna section because I'm not sure if the radios are similar across the Renault model range and thought I might get a better response here. I've just bought a 2000 Laguna RXE 1.9DTi. What are the chances of me fitting an MP3 capable CD player in it? Currently it has an Alpine 6CD changer in the boot working on the factory fitted head unit. If I just fit a 3rd party (I have a Sony one from my previous car) MP3 CD head unit I'm going to lose the facility of showing station name at the top of the dashboard next to the clock. Are there any units available that I could fit that would be compatible? Do Renault do one in any of their later cars? Thanks in advance. |

Well this seems a very quiet forum.
I have sorted it out myself. I even get the mp3 track title showing on the built in dash display

I am very curious how you solved this. I do have a newer Megane, but I'm trying to do something similar.

Hi Paul, I'm also curious how this can be done with an aftermarket head unit. I have a Laguna as well & was pondering an upgrade but do not have any idea how to overcome the lost in display & steering controls.
