a simple 200 hp
alright i decided, even though i don't make a whole lot of money at my current job, i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what i should start doing to my current engine the ka24e w/ 130k on it to increase the horsepower. This summer i plan to have the enging looked at and estimated the life time i will probably get out of it, then i will decide to either go for a rebuild, or just buy an sr20. Really though i don't want to fool with the sr, i'd rather boost up my engine to around 200 hp then add a turbo to it. I really don't plan on racing it that much, but i just want something to kill all the civics, which around here in kentucky the civics all come with exhaust and body kit, and my car stock as it is now has the ability to beat them, but i want enough to just flat out crush them. thanks for all the help!

Re: a simple 200 hp
but seriously now,
you could get headers, full catback exhaust, cold air intake, engine internals not sure if that'll get you 200 hp, but it's a start

Re: a simple 200 hp
THE 480HP SETUP-ka24de with GReddy turbo kit, 1000cc nismo injectors, dual walbro in-tank fuel pumps, 1mm larger ferrea titanium intake and exhaust valves, 50% stiffer titanium valve springs, ported and polished head, 2.6L hks stroker kit, full cusom turbo-back catless exhaust system with GReddy silenser, GReddy FIMC, port mached head-intake-exaust machine work, 4.5inch custom boost tubes, stand-alone engine management, 15psi of boost(this setup hase made 573hp on 27psi of boost) my point is the sky is the limit with the ka24de so dont swap your 2.4L for the smaller 2.0L sr20det just mod it into a supra killer.the ka24de is potentaly much more powerfull than the sr20det

anyhoo your not gonna have enough money to put anywhere near 200 to the ground (or to the crank for that matter) on a NA KA24E. Either Turbo From the Start or Swap in an CA18 or SR20. I cast my vote for the CA18DET if all your looking for is 200whp - Being that its Cheap, 175HP Stock, and Origanal, plus with all the mods associated with an Engine Swap Intake, Downpipe, Cat Back, you'll Be near 175whp add a boost controller and you'll be close to 200

id stick with your ka unless it has major problems since it starts out with 155hp (~133rwhp I believe)...so adding 50hp shouldn't be that hard...if you are on a really thin budget then a few bolt-ons and some nitrous would be very do-able and still not cost much.
A turbo setup will definitely cost you quite a bit of money and an engine swap is out of the question for anyone making shit pay...it's just not practical in my opinion...a ca swap nets you only a little more than the stock n/a powerplant...although it does have a potential to make much more hp without a lot of extra parts (sr turbo...esp s15...or something a little bigger and various bolt-ons would definitely get you really good power with a small investment more) I'm in very much the same situation...I make barely enough to spend on the things I need/want and save some of the extra (9.93/hour )...

Re: a simple 200 hp
Also if you didn't mine using nitrous on your car then that will get you there really easily. I was running a 75 shot on my car for awhile and it put down 229 hp to the wheels and 267 lb-ft of torque.
Nitrous = torque maker
