will this head work?

I've got a 91 civic hb with the d15b2. I just burnt one of my exhust valves and after removing the head the rest of them dont look too great either. I found a d16a6 head on ebay and was wondering if it would bolt right to my d15b2 block with out any need of changes. Any help would be great.

yeah Kornsaq is right, its gonna bolt right up, and you might even notice just a slight bit of gain, but not a whole lot, since you still got the d15 bottom end...but oh well

Re: will this head work?

it should be the same distributor, the head is off a a similar year civic, from what i've found the only real difference in these two motors is the block being a little bigger. and no its not a vtec head. now here's a question, do you guys think i'll have a problem with the bottom end now that the top end is so thightly sealed. i've heard people having problems on a motor with higher miles. if they redo to head it creates such a stong vacume that the older pistons and rings dont do to well.

Re: will this head work?

yes it will use the same distributer... and btw the block itself is not bigger, they just use different strokes...and no you shouldn't have a problem with pistons/rings that you would have had with your old head.

Re: will this head work?

so here's the next question, what all do i need to put a d16z6 motor in the hb. will my manual tranny bolt to the d16. do i have to buy new motor mounts, how hard is it to change the wiring. or is there a web site that explaines everything. my friend just put a 94 b16 del so motor in his 94 civic. he will give me the motor. it smoked a little. but not too bad
