Shocks=struts????

Hey ....ok maybe you guys do understand how much of a "newbie" i am at this......hahaha.....ok ..

Are "shocks" the same thing as "struts"?? in certain threads i have read they seemed to be used interchangably!!! AHH im confused!!! heheh please help me out... i think i understand springs though.....they go over the shock assembly right??

Do i ABSOLUTELY need aftermarket struts or whatever they are called when i lower my car only like 1-1.25 inches, even if i get lowering springs??? Will it kill my car??? (btw i will have 16inch rims upgraded from 13inch)

RESPOND!!! PLease!!! thanks!!!

Re: Shocks=struts????

Shocks & struts are slightly different but basically the same thing. Shocks mount seperate than springs, struts mount with springs.

You don't absolutely need aftermarket struts but you will eventually.

Lots of suspension information : http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...play.php?f=964
