Re: if i bought a body kit
attach it yourself man...its more satisfying....and as for the paint you really should just get a complete repaint so it really matches well and your car will look alot nicer...save up and get it nice...

Re: if i bought a body kit
The lowest quote I got was $2000 to repaint the hole car, but I found a guy that paints real well and can match paint to the car real well, he is straightning the kit, painting it and a new passenger door for $475. Just depends. Ship around is the best most people are going to be able to tell you.

Re: if i bought a body kit
Umm... don't goto maaco. They use a color that has a clear mixed in with the color. Their paint jobs suck believe me.

Re: if i bought a body kit
well... not to completely smash everything said here. but I'm going to add my 2 cents on this lovely little subject. First things first. The kit... What kind do you want. You must first decide on a style kit and a place to buy it. I would not suggest ebay, althought they defintely are the cheapest. Then you have to decide whether or not you want fiberglass or poly. poly is good, but much more pricey. If you go fiberglass get handlaid not sprayed. sprayed is very inconsistent and thin, handlaid is usually around 7 layers and much stronger. I'm not one to tell people what to choose, but the blitz kit is WAAAAYYY overdone. it looks very good, but everyone and their grandmother has it. Look around and find something original or clean. Secondly.. the installation. Yes.. go ahead, do it yourself. Hopefully you will have no fitment issues and the kit will go on wonderfully. only problem with that is.. it never happens. Plus fiberglass is a whole other world. I can't even begin to tell you how many jacked up kits I've seen or had to fix. It's not as easy as they make it look in the magazines. it can be.. but usually isn't. if you feel comfortable with your skills and have the tools go for it. but be forewarned things get fuct pretty easily. Take it to a shop that has experience with fiberglass. Don't pay outrageous body shop prices. test fit it on your car before you actually install it and see if it looks like there will be major problems getting it to fit. If you don't, try to get it sized up yourself. once you have it on and fitted perfectly, sand it all down and smooth out any gaps or soft spots with resin. Then take it off and run it to a paint shop. Most shops that do paint can take your kit and match it with your car. they simply put a meter over your car that tells the computer how to mix the paint. it's lovely techonology. then they spray your kit for you, and you take it home and put it on. VIOLA. you have a body kit.
Now, all of this is based on the fact that you are doing it yourself. this should not cost you more than 200 dollars. the other route is to have someone install it for you. I personally recommend you take this route. A typical shop will charge you around 250-500 dollars to install a kit. depending on time required for alterations and painting. a good shop will be able to get the kit on in about 2 days and have it painted to match your car no problem. saving you the 1500 dollars it usually costs to respray an entire car. although painting the whole car does ensure a perfect match and a new look for the car. But for the love of god do NOT go to macco. I cyber slap whoever said that. sorry.. but it's just not cool. Also, most kits look a hundred times better when they are molded on to the car. the side skirts at the least. Seams are just ugly. This usually requires the car be completely repainted so it may not be in your best option if you are trying to save money. so. to sum it all up I say this... Test out the kit you get.. see if it will fit okay. if it looks alright. go ahead and install it and sand and be happy and entertained. then take it to a good shop and get it painted. then put the badboy back on. Or, spend the 300 or so dollars and have it done by someone. it's all up to you. but don't use macco. Either way enjoy and let me know if you need any help. sorry for the long pointless post. all my 2 cents seem to add up.

Re: if i bought a body kit
Thats the EvoII or Sensei kit. Depending on who manufactures it. It's the same kit. It's available with either blitz sides and rear or combat. But you can't get that kit... cause I have it haha. Just playin. It looks sick for sure.
