Ok heres the scoop: My friend just bought a used 03 tib GT for low bux and has some money left over for mods. He doesnt know which way he wants to head with his tuning though. He has narrowed it down to 3 choices:
1. N/A - Short Ram Intake - KRD exhaust headers - Mussa Cat - Oil cooler est price $1400 2. Supercharded - alpine s/c - cai - mussa cat - oil cooler est price $4100 3. NOS - Nitrous Express 40shot - Short Ram intake - KRD exhaust headders - mussa cat - oil cooler est price $2200 I told him to go with the N/A just cuz thats me, but i was wondering what some of the pros and cons were of these 3 different tunning methods, and would any of them surpass the mythical 250hp range. *also is that 250 hp range flywheel or wheel HP ?

id go superchrarger route. and please dont call it NOS when you are talking about nitrous express. "nitrous" or "n2o" will do fine. |

it's just a tuner thing. Just work with the terminology. It's like saying "shredding" intead of "going for a ride on my skateboard"

any way... umm theres alot more parts out there for th etib than you realize.... no the 250whp is a ,myth and it has been surpassed and ripp mods has finished the mechanics (and is workin) sds their super charger its undeniably th ebest thing out there... all they have to do is teh electronics... thatll be out soon next gen motor sports has passed teh 200whp n/a recently.... his stuff is so nice and workman ship is incredible n2o... baaahh fuck you start to ruin your engine with 1 spray... not a practical choice |

I was just wondering why the use of nitrous is so damaging? I thought that nitrous was relatively safe at low boost levels.

well obviously people dont use it all the time...
its like a turbo... too much engine goes boom! nitrous systems are fine if you knwo what youre doing with them theres a 3rd gen tib with a s/c and nos that hit 307whp or something.... sweet shit... but id never put nitrous in my car... |
