remote start on 98 EX V6 problem
I just installed an RS 79 remote start from bulldog and have a problem. It works fine using the Bulldog Remote but I wanted to use my factory keyless to start/stop engine. When I press the lock 3 times on my factory keyless it does start the engine but pressing the lock one more time to stop the engine does nothing. At this point the factory keyless is totally non-functional (unlock, trunk, etc. doesn't work). I needed to find a wire which gave me (+) when factory keyless lock is depressed. According to the wire schematic, I should have been able to fine a Black/Blue stripe inside the passenger fuse box. I found one but it was (+) all the time. I did find a (+) when depressed on the drivers side - white/red - and thats what I used. I'm wondering if this is the problem or if the factory alarm disarm wire I just hooked up is causing my problem. The factory alarm disarm was a blue wire I found inside the drivers door panel which gave me a (+) when key is turned to unlock on door.
Anybody have an idea??? Thanks! |

Re: remote start on 98 EX V6 problem
Congrats. You bought one of the worst remote starters out on the market. Sorry, I do not mean to be so hard on you. It's just that I hate these systems because they are so poorly out together. The last one I did a guy bought 3 for gifts. One for himself and the other 2 to give away. Well, the first one didn't work so he brought out another and that was dead too. He then brought the 3rd and was unwrapping it in front of me! Finally, that worked.
Anyway, the Honda's locks ARE (-) pulse. You did find it and it rests at (+). I am unsure why you have to change that pulse via relay to the remote start brain when it shows that it needs a (-) pulse to activate. If you take the blue wire from the RS straight to the doorlock wire (blue/black) it should work. Well, that's if your keyless entry doesn't shut down after the car is running. Some Hondas do that. You would have been much better off going with a Python 563p that has over 1/4 mile range! |

My diagram states that your door lock wires are NEG. pulse also.(LOCK BLACK/BLUE) - (UNLOCK ORANGE). The black/blue is located at the Drivers kick and orange at the LT. green plug. As for the trunk you will have to reverse polarity a relay to drive the trunk pop. The trunk is positive driven. Its located in the drivers kick (WHITE/RED). The people who sell these units should be pimp slapt.
