OT: check out my product design!

The image is too big to post here so here is the link for it:

www2.uic.edu/~aotabo2/render3a.jpg

I got tired of drawing cars (yeah, I can not belive I said it either) for one design class so I decided or rather forced myself to devote so time to my another assignment for my other design class. It is supposed to be a multiledia communication device. I will explain more if anyone wants to know, but what I want to know is what do you all think?

Re: OT: check out my product design!

Well it is supposed to be a multimedia communication device. The idea behind it was to basically merge aspects of the cellphone, computer, pda, and media players(i.e. audio/video), into one carry all device and make it easy to use (which is the basis for this class--Interaction Design).

Re: OT: check out my product design!

Maybe I should explain its form, in its original form it looks like a normal phone but the front faceplate would slide up to reveal a ultra-thin touch display screen.

At this point you could use it as a pda, but alternatively you would be able to flip the front faceplate over onto the display screen, revealing the qwerty-like keyboard and a recessed joystick.

This would enable full web browsing and internet gaming. Confused yet? I know is probably hard to infer that from the pic. What if anything would you change about it

Re: OT: check out my product design!

the "play" "stop" "fast forward" etc buttons could be smoother, they seem to stand out a lot. Maybe make them a lighter color or just make em flow better...make sense?

Re: OT: check out my product design!

KustmAce, I was trying to make the button appear illuminated. But I guess it does not come across that way, so actually that makes alot a sense.
