body type

hey, i have a 97 grand am se, and i was wondering how i would find the body type of my car. is it listed in the VIN or how do i figure out if i have a J body, or a N body? can someone please help me.

Grand Ams, Malibus, Aleros, Achievas= N-bodies

Cavaliers, sunfires, sunbirds= J-bodies.

no i dont, but i just changed the spark plugs and the connectors were hard to line up when putting the cam cover back on, and its been running kind of funny

The Fourth Didgit of the Vin is the Body code, the eigth is the Engine code

well a misfire caused by a broken spark plug, bad wire or something like taht, usually won't throw a code. I don't know why but I've never gotten a code because of a wire or plug misfire
