Bad smoking problem..Need help?
I own a 1990 honda civic. My ride smokes crazy white smoke on and off. I replaced the head...the head gasket..and the manifold gasket. Is there any way to pinpoint the problem of the situation. I shorted out something in my ride because I had to re-configure my wires to the fuel pump.

Re: Bad smoking problem..Need help?
Is it white white smoke or bluish white smoke?
I would do a leakdown test and see if the valves are leaking or the rings. But if the smoke is white white then it is coolant, which would mean your head gasket is leaking. Get a Helms manual, not the autozone Haynes but a HELMS manual and do the head gasket again. Follow EVERY step to the T.

Re: Bad smoking problem..Need help?
if its white white smoke and u ust changed the head gasket, head, and manifold gasket then their could be a leak throught ur block. The block could be cracked and coolant is leaking into the cylinders. There is suppose to be a test or something where u run the engine with the radiator cap on and u check to see it it bubbles. That meants its leaking somewhere. Dont do it tho... find more info on it about proper precedures. Might get antifreeze all over the place if done wrong.
