metal matrix brake pads

Hey guys, I have a pair of Stillen metal-matrix rear brake pads for 2nd gen TT for sale. I bought them when I got my front pads a few months ago, but I only replaced the fronts. The rears have been sitting in my trunk since I got them. I haven't even opened them. I was planning on saving them until I needed to replace the rear pads, but I need the money now for a new rim. They sell at 3sxperformance.com for 55 plus shipping. I'll sell them for 45 plus shipping. That's 10 bucks off and they are still in the original packaging. I just need money for a new rim by spring break.
I have the metal matrix on my fronts and they are great pads, they improve your stopping power, they have barely any brake dust. They don't squeal at all. And they don't suffer the problems of other high performance metal brake pads.
Taken from www.stealth316.com:

"Metallic pads consist of at least 60% powdered metal that is pressed into a mold at high temperature with a some organic binder to form a somewhat homogeneous block (called sintered metal). Most metallic pads have excellent grip at high temperatures but are not suitable for street use because they often are noisy, grip poorly when cold, chew up rotors, and make black dust that gets deposited on the wheels. The exceptions are Axxis/Repco/PBR/Autospeciality/Stillen Metal Matrix/Master/Lux pads that are made of brass and bronze powder with a resin binder. Metal Matrix pads are excellent for street and mild track use but are not ideal for heavy-duty track use. Metal Matrix pads generate minimal dust build up, wear well, and work great with drilled rotors. "

Also if anyone has any clue where to find (of if you're selling one) an 18" stock vr4 6 spoke chrome rim, (minimal curb damage ok) for 300 or under please let me know. Thanks, Geoff

I will be selling my rims as soon as I get a new set for my VR4, they are 18" Chrome 6 spokers, they have some curb damage, the guy i bought the car from fucked up one side pretty good, to be honest, im surpirsed my front right tire holds air from one of the curb checks this old driver put on it, and the right rear is ok, just a lil chewed up on the lip. But the left side is perfect. The rims are nothing to laugh at, and can be definetely fixed for cheap at any rim shop. My rims wont be up for sale though for a few months though, but ill definetely let you have first dibs on them though....Anyway, I assumed you meant $300 for the set, that depends on if i have them fixed or not before I put them up for sale in a few months, if i do have them fixed, they will be put up for $500. That will be completely repaired and re-sanded and polished. But, just curious, why are you looking for some stock heavy as 35lbs a piece chrome 18" mitsu. Rims??? Sooooo heavy, go aftermarket!!! definetely, thats why im gonna get rid of mine, aftermarket equals lighter, more power to the ground, less weight to move, and less over all car weight. Idk, just curious? fill me in....

Re: metal matrix brake pads

No actually I am just looking for one. I hit a curb really bad back in July, and fucked up one of my stockers. I want to replace them all for something lighter, but I don't have the money for it. Now I am just looking to replace one cheap so that I have something to drive the 200 miles home for spring break in a week. I dont want to drive all that way on my donut at 50mph. it will take forever that way. And I don't have a grand to drop on new rims. I would love a set of 5Zigen, but simply can't afford them at this point. So I am just looking for one chrome replacement. Everywhere I see them they are 400 plus shipping for just one. And on ebay 800 for a set of 4, but there are none being sold singly. I don't think I'll still be looking for one in a few months, but thanx for the offer
