There was a VR-M available in some markets that had the 2.0 Mivec V6. I assume that it was the 6A12, but not sure. I don't know what the 6A12TT is, was that fitted to the 7g galant VR4's? If so the 6A13TT would be the one for the 8g...

Nope. that is the 6a13tt. 2.5 6 cylinder. Found in the 8g VR4.

There was a turbo'd 2.0 6 cylinder in the 7g I think? Could be that?

Trust me, the 8g JDM turbo engine is the 6A13TT. I own one! Not saying you are wrong about the 6A12TT - just I don't know what it is.... About the only thing I do know about Galant wise is the 8g and 280 bhp.

See here and here.

Re: Galant engine swap with FTO's 6A12 mivec

8G VR4 is 6A13 V6 DOHC 2.5L Twin-Turbo engine with 280hp, before 8G VR4 is 6A12 V6 DOHC 2.0L single Turbo engine with 200hp, there is no arguement about it.

Any Euro or Japan spec 8G FWD Galant can swap the FTO 6A12 MIVEC easily, because in Japan there was a Galant VR-M with such engine fitting to it. Just remember ECU must be swap together, since the normal 8G ECU has rev limiter provide fuel cut at 7000rpm, and MIVEC must work at 7500rpm.

Re: Galant engine swap with FTO's 6A12 mivec

Thank you for the replies, guys.

Anyway, I have decided to sell my 99 galant and get myself a 93 galant with auto tranny. Any idea how could i swap the 93 galant with evo 1 engine & still driving the car with auto tranny. Do I need to get a new ecu or i could still use still galant 93 ecu? What other mods i need to do to the galant?

Thank you in advance for any replies receipt.

uh, the 93 galant should swap "easily" with a 4g63t in which case an eclipse auto ECU or a JDM auto GVR4 ecu would work.
