tires

hey guys,

i recently put new tires on my car cuz there was some weird bump on my front wheels...anyway, i decided not to go with the michelins that were already in my car... instead, i got Falken ZE512s... has anyone here had any experience with these tires?

i've read reviews online and it seems that people either love it or hate it... anyway, some of those that loved it had one thing they didn't like and that was that the "side wall" was "noodley" or soft ... what does this mean? they say that it's tough on turns and you can really feel it. thanks in advance

Re: tires

the side wall on the wheel is the part that you see when looking straight at the rim.. sometimes called profile or "lo pro" for people who put on larger than stock rims(me) by saying the side wall is soft that means that when you take a corner hard, the rubber has a higher tendancy to flex under the pressure, causeing loss of grip and in worst case scenario's wheel damage. for example... if you have two sets of the same profile tire, but one has a very soft sidewall, when you take a corner, the set with the hard sidewall will make it feel like you stick to the road, and less body-roll is felt (my personal experience) however, with the soft sidewall, it will feel like you're just barely hanging on to the corner, and you will feel like you're driving on tires made of jello compared to the hard sidewalled tires... that's just my personal experience tho
