Re: Grand Am Vs. Tiburon

the new v6 5-speeds can be pretty quick, but the older style Automatics, aren't anything special.

hehehehe, lets ee how long it takes for the tiburon owners to show up

Re: Grand Am Vs. Tiburon

all depends, they either came with the v6 that was available at the time (I have a 3300 and a 3100) or the Quad DOHC HO or LO and then later the 2.4. Basically the same as the GAGT

Re: Grand Am Vs. Tiburon

i have a friend with a 2001 tiburon... trash! i mean, they run good and all.. but until 2002, they were only available with a 140hp 4cyl... which is good for a 4cyl.. but nothing special.. especially for the style of the car. The newly styled ones have a 2.7(i think) V6, and even the GT only pumps out 170hp.. which isn't much considering my 93 grand am has 160.

Burned a V6 Tiburon

This wanking V6 tiburon cut me off but ended up turing into the same 2 lane street I was going to. I own a stock 2001 GAGT1 and had a full tank of gas and 2 freinds in the car; I still owned his ass 2 times before I had to leave that street.

Re: Grand Am Vs. Tiburon

The newer tiburons have 170 hp and a 0-60mph time of 7 seconds in a automatic. Thats a quick car!

Re: Grand Am Vs. Tiburon

i think its pretty pathetic a 2004 Tiburon has 170hp, and an 1987 Buick LeSabre has 165.. what is that about...

Re: Grand Am Vs. Tiburon

my friend has a 92 Chevy Lumina 3.1L V6 auto, and i have a 95 2.3L GA SE 5 spd. We raced down the highway, nothing real serious, but i kicked his ass in the short run, but lost in the end. Ah the plight of the manual vs auto. Either way, it was fun.

Re: Grand Am Vs. Tiburon

Today I was driving home and a grand am se v6 same model as mine kept tryin to play. He followed behind me and id step on it to 100 hed eventually catch up so i inched to 110 and he started fallen back then i nailed it to 125 left him way back and slowed down to let him catch up. We did this for 20 miles till i got to town. He says he seen my car in the forums and wanted to see if it was what I been sayin it was. Well I gave him a tour of my goodies. Im thinkin maybe if theres enough of us Grand Am owners who wanna race we should hook up at the track for a day it will be a blast! Alberta Canada Edmonton Area

Re: Grand Am Vs. Tiburon

holla to the 95 GA SE, 2.3L, 5 spd...i got one too and they do get up decently quick. Its my first car and ive had it for about 2 and a half yrs and i absolutely LOVE it. Ive never had any problems even dispite the insane amount of mileage ive put on it. I bought it with 90k and it now has 148k..(job makes me drive a lot). Ive tried to race a few times with only one horrible match up which was a camaro Z-28..dont ask why cuz i dont even know but there comes a time in every young mans life when he thinks he can beat any car on the street...that one was a bit of a wake up call haha
