Thumbs up Little paint help please

Alright, this is my 4th model. I really wish I could show you some photos, but for some reason I can't get them up. So I'm just gonna do a little description so you can get an idea. Revell EK hatch JDM style. Custom N1 exhaust. White ITR's, racing seat.....soon to be awesome paint job. My only problem I have is: what is the best mixture for paint with airbrush thinner? I don't want it to be too thick comming out but not too runny. What mix do you guys use when airbrusing your rides??? Any and every opinion will help out greatly. Once again, sorry for no pics. If anyone can help with that one, that would be great too!!

What kind of paint are you planning to use? Is this the first kit you've used an airbrush on? Pics are nice, but a bit more information on the help you're looking for would be better!

Re: Little paint help please

This is the second kit that I will be using my airbrush on. And I'm gonna be using Model Masters Stop light red with gold flakes and it's acryl paint I'm assuming.
And I'm gonna try and post some more pics real quick.

Yes!!!!!!!! I got it!!! I believe that worked! I need a smoke after that one. Well, this is what my hatch used to look like.

I'll take some pics tonight so that you can get an updated version. That car, that stop light red acryl paint...what would be the best mixture for my airbrush???

Metallic colors tend to be a bit more difficult to use. I've had rotten luck with the Model Master enamel metallic. A car I painted with it took six months to fully cure- no joke! Ilike theri acryl line much more, but I can't vouch for the metallic colors in that line.

To spray acrylics, I use a mixture of 1 part isopropyl alcohol and 2 parts water. Put this in a plastic dropper bottle (I use an emptied contact lens cleaning solution bottle). Add this by the drop until it is about 1/3 by vol of the paint mix, or one part thinner to two parts paint. THIS IS ONLY AN ESTIMATION. Don't bother to pre mix the paint with thinner- it's much easier to put some paint into the paint cup, and then add thinner. The consistancy you're looking for is about that of thin milk. Then, test spray- this is the only way to tell if the paint is sufficiently thinned. Adjust as necissary.
