Civic Type R vs Integra GS-R

A buddy and I went out tonight to see who's car was faster from a dig and from different speeds at a roll. I've got an intake and exhaust, and he's got a header, exhaust, and suspension. Well from a dig I spun a bit off the line but still put his nose at my tail, but he gained up to about 60 where we shut down and my nose was at his tail.

We slowed to about 45 on the freeway and on the third honk I started nudging ahead in second, stayed through third, and he reeled me in through 4th, passing me in 5th and we shut down around 115.

Rolled from a 65 and I nudged ahead through 3rd, then he freaking reeled me in again through 4th and took me. I did have my whole wood/carpet/sub crap in the hatch, but that probably wouldn't have mattered too much if it wasn't there. I guess the 1.8's higher torque does make a difference when racing..

65 is a horrible roll speed for a gsr, they redline at 65 in second so basically you have to drop it into third, 70 or 80 wouldve been a much better roll speed for the integra

Re: Civic Type R vs Integra GS-R

look at it this way,you did a B16B motor swap. i still give you more props.

BTW i was reading something on the net where this guy was running his JDM B18C and he did a test with intakes. turns out it runs faster with the stock air box than the AEM CAI.
maybe its time to sacrafice the sound for the horsepower haha.

alright, alright --- i dont know if you guys are calling me out or something- but to the young man who takes integras all day but only gets beat by one running a 13 second 1/4, what happened to all the integras running 14's? cause they'll hang with/beat you
ps -- just reading all of your weight posts and shit almost made me think about considering putting my car on a diet plan, but im glad i didn't, i ran over a screw this weekend and was extremely happy to have my spare and all the neccesary tools in my trunk, i remeber thinking to myself, thank god i didnt take this stuff out

a guy on the internet did a test and he was running faster with his stock airbox? thats news to me, i wouldnt mind seeing the link, also is it only the AEM CAI that did it or were other brands of CAI's doing it as well?

Re: Civic Type R vs Integra GS-R

GS-R's and CTR's are very much alike, ctr having a bit more hp and gsr having more torque. That's probably why he kept taking me in the higher speeds... who knows, maybe there's something wrong with my engine?

Re: Civic Type R vs Integra GS-R

ive beaten every gsr i have raced except for an internally built one

im not trying to say i will beat all but i mean i inched on a 02 gsr with i/h/e vafc and a skunk 2 IM and those mods are way more than i have but then again my car is way lighter maybe i have a freak motor? im going to the track again friday maybe i can get my times down even more and if so...i have never heard of an ls swapped civic/crx going so fast with such little mods

i remember one member ran a 15.5 with his in his hatch
and numerous members have run 14.8-15.0 with their b16 swaps...as i can remember and there was a b16 hatch at the track who ran a 14.7 maybe i have a freak motor...or i can just drive well

what are the tq specs on the b16b? my friend has a gsr in a 97 cx but has yet to run at the track i keep pushing him to but no beans yet

your numbers are definetly good, i mean, you can compare those to the stock times of some serious cars - ITR - RX-8 - 350z(~14.4) - wrx - damn bro, you got a freak ls motor

Re: Civic Type R vs Integra GS-R

hopefully quicker friday night

no doubt torque helps out alot i just thought the extra hp put out by your motor would make up for it

hopefully get 14.5-14.6 friday night with another trick up my sleve if not gonna get some new tires and go from there

i dont know exactly what you meant by this "no doubt torque helps out alot i just thought the extra hp put out by your motor would make up for it" but with the times your running, if you had a b18c1 in your car youd be hitting 14's flat
