Which car?

I was thinking about buying a 92-96 LT1 corvette.My friend is selling his 98 trans am WS6 and really wants me to buy it.I was wondering how the trans am would compare to the corvette as far as performance and accleration.I know the LT1 corvette comes with 300 hp and 340 tq and weighs around 3300 lbs.My friend was telling me how much faster his LS1 trans am would be compared to a LT1 vette.Will he LS1 trans am WS6 be faster than the LT1 vette?

My aunt has a '98 Trans Am and she also has the 351 LS1 in it and she had it rated at 314 rwhp in 2001 at car craft with 337 lbs-ft of torque at the rear wheels. She is always beating Mustangs and all of the rice burners but she only beats about half of the corvettes she races. I think the Trans Am is a little heavier than the vette but im not positive. That wasnt much to say but i hope it helped a little.

i have an 02 ws6, 325 hp and my Grandpa has a 01 convertable corvette 350 hp, in riding them you can tell that little diff in power, but in your situation the 98 ws6 has 320 hp to the vettes 300. Personaly I think the vette has the edge but the diff would not be very noticeable. Let the look be how you decide because the power differance would only favor the vette a little, if at all b/c of weight and hell, just because its a vette. Hp ratings arent everything. A 03 cobra has 390 hp (supercharged) and a 03 vette has 350 hp. but the vette is faster and handals better. I would decide by which one i liked the most and not the two or four tenths differance either way in 0-60 time. You should be happy either way.
