Ran Our Cars Tonight.....

Well we just got the cars yesterday and both of them are running really well...my boy got a H22A VTEC Prelude and I got a B16A VTEC Civic. After I degreased my engine tonight he pulled up in my driveway and asked me to go run on this long road up by my house. I didnt have a problem so we went on the road and started off rolling at about 35mph(it wasnt supposed to be a race) and he sped up to catch me and went ahead a bit so he couldnt fully overtake me so he jumps ahead again and floors it...Im in second and hit vtec at about 6000 I shift to third at about 7800 it seemed as if I was going to get him in third but I didnt i stayed in vtec for all of third and shifted to forth and started braking, by this time I was about half a car behind(my bumper @ his door handle) and he flew ahead and that was done...I had fun...this being my first time "racing" anyone in my car...Im supposed to race another friends sunfire tomorrow...cant wait

Re: Ran Our Cars Tonight.....

Congratulations on your car man. Are you going to change the rims on your car? It must have been a really close race, preludes vtec dont run much faster than civic si 99, its like 15.6 against 15.3, so with your weight advantage (less weight) must be a driver race. Also...shift at 8100, works best...trust me.

Re: Ran Our Cars Tonight.....

Thanks alot mex and pikkagtr I lowered the car tonight she's so sexy now, I cant wait untill I get it licenced so I can go out to the tracks. Mex I tried what you said and it worked out great Im always in VTEC now so I at least feel like Im going faster. Instead of the sunfire today I raced an older eagle talon and I beat him really badly by like 7 cars...we went from a 10 mph roll and I killed him in second I got mid way through third before I shut down at about 70mph and coasted to the end of the same long road...Good times
