Unhappy my poor car

yea so at about 11:30 this morning I'm on my way to work... driving down the road and I come around the corner and about 100 yards away this guy is in the middle of the road. well it is kind of a back road and doesn't have a center line so I was just expecting him to move over as I came you know, well he didn't, so I hit the breaks and come to a complete stop with my car half in a ditch and the guy comes half way over into my lane and hits the front driver side of my car. and to make it worse he was in like a 78 cadalac(sp?) so its a yacht of a car, so even though he barely hit me, it tore a huge chunk out of my front bumper, wrinkled up my hood, made the headlight unit tilt all wierd and get stuck, pulled everything to the drivers side about half an inch, including the passenger side fender, made my driver side fender crumple up, left flat spots on my tires from the skid, and even bent the "frame"(not sure exactly what to call it) between the headlights right next to where the air intake comes to the front of the car...

I'm gonna try to get some pictures of it before its fixed, if so I'll try to post them, but I'm just glad his insurance has to pay for it, cuz I think they might say its totaled and pay for the car, then I'll have to buy it back at salvage price and fix it, but I'll end up with more money in the end I bet... anyways, I'll try to get pics soon

Re: my poor car

he told me he was 81, and he tried to tell me a gust of wind blew him over... what is that, a gust of wind, he was going north, I'm going south, the wind was going north... what gust of wind pushed him sideways? especially in his huge car...

anyways all he was worried about was that he missed his 11:35 tee time... old people suck sometimes

Re: my poor car

well the insurance company is being gay and STILL hasn't looked at the car, and for some reason I can't upload pictures, so hopefully that will be fixed soon and you can check them out

anyone have any advice on ways to make insurance companies give me more money for the damages or the car?

Well... I guess what you might want to do is just exaggerate the problem. Things that can be repaired, say they need to be replaced, unless of course your chassis is bent or something. You might want to tell them that because that's a big indication that the car is going to need serious repairs. just overwhelm them with your knowlege about the car, and show them what's wrong.

Re: my poor car

Insurance claim adjusters are not stupid. . . They will know it's a rotary and they will try to save themselves as much as possible. Your best bet is to take it to a bodyman you know and have an estimate done, before they take it to someone they know. . . Show them the estimate and there isn't much they can do except try and get you to slip up in a statement somehow, and they are trained to do that. Good luck Soyo.

PS. Bribe the bodyman, get the most expensive estimate you can get without totaling it, well. . . unless it's totaled that is.

Re: my poor car

damn, that is a really really good idea.... forget what I said, get a bodyman you know to say what I said. I like that bribing idea... I should try that more often.
