Re: New girl, Speaker Question

I had the same problem with my car, What i did was i took a dremel tool and shaved off a bit of the metal edge so i could fit the magnet into the hole, Then i redrilled the holes to match up with the speaker. and now it sits flush. But i recently blew the speakers out. oh well hope that help a little.

Re: New girl, Speaker Question

I got mine from a friend, for cheap, well free, I was suppose to pay him, we both forgot about it and then he past away a few months ago in a car accident. SO in short, no they were the wrong size but they were free.

Re: New girl, Speaker Question

Yeah the guys at best buy ended up having to cut away pretty much the cup where the stock speakers sit in then they just screwed em down to the door and they fit in perfect...if they had a bigger mangnet I would have not been able to make the speaker fit in...it would have hit the window bar..so it was really close..just becarful

Yep....I've had the same problems with my civics..guess they don't measure to well using the english system over there in Japan. In any case, its a simple fix. Just take out the stupid plastic bracket and use a jig saw or something similar to widen the hole so 6.5's will fit. After that, pick up some self tapping screws and you should be all set.
