String Theory Lit.
Hey. First I'd like to thank the people out there who have really contributed to the discussion in this section. Also, I would like to ask you guys if you can recommend any good literature on string theory, chaos theory or general universe phenomena. I'm not looking for grad level lit here but something above the "Universe for Idiots".

Re: String Theory Lit.
Thanks, this looks like a winner. Now only if it weren't 65 I'd buy it today. Oh well, it also gave me some leads on reads for quantum mechanics. Thanks again!

there is a book by brian green called "the elegant universe" its pretty good on the whole shebang, but for basic learning and that shit, i'd say that stephen haking is prolly your best bet, he is a great writer and he explains ideas very well, he also is much funnier than you would ever expect, i'd really recomend "the universe in a nutshell" its a great book.........

Yeah, I already have the "Brief Histroy of Time" by Hawking. Also, the elegant universe is a book that I seen recommended before. Apparently Greene did a better job with this book than his book on string theory. That one wasn't recommended very much.
Again, thanks for the info!

Re: String Theory Lit.
Hawking is a great source for that type of stuff (i've read all but one of his books that i know of)
the way i find more books to read about this stuff (i read everything about it that i can get my hands on) is i just go into the Barnes & Noble at the Mall of America and go to their section about the Universe, they have a lot of good books about it (doesn't have to be that store, just any large book store like that) a couple people i've talked to have suggested Carl Sagan, but i can't personally recommend him since i haven't read anything by him
