Re: weight distribution on the F-bodies?
thanks dude, I'm curious. could you weigh down the rear, and make it close to 50/50 weight distribution?? It would make the car heavier but wouldn't that make it handle better?

Re: weight distribution on the F-bodies?
in theory i guess you could, but it would be horribly inefficient. the benefits of the 50/50 would not be worth the added weight on an already fat car. the idea isnt to add weight, but to move weight. that's why they have battery relocation kits and weight reduction kits...

Re: weight distribution on the F-bodies?
a screw driver, hammer, and socket...that's your kit, you gotta make em yourself for the f-body. never really understood why you could get those kits for 2500 lbs cars but the ones that really need it (i.e. 3400lbs camaro) you gotta fend for yourself...

Re: weight distribution on the F-bodies?
^ yea it's kind of gay how Civic CRXs weigh like 2250 lbs but they still have carbon fiber hoods, carbon figer fenders, even carbon fiber side mirrors, it's ridiculous and stupid. The car is a piece of crap, the kit probably costs more than the car

Re: weight distribution on the F-bodies?
apparently there is a carbon fiber cowl induction hood somewhere. ive seen one on a white 94 z28, looked beast...

Re: weight distribution on the F-bodies?
Are there any carbon fiber products for a third gen? Obviously one could ony change the front fenders and the hood right?

Re: weight distribution on the F-bodies?
took me a while but i found a carbon fiber camaro hood... it a 94-97... if this was for appearance i wouldnt recommend it for a domestic car but since it is for performane i think its a respectable cause so anyways here you go... http://www.dgmotorsports.com/process...&ProcessType=8

think about what you just said, and then play some gran turismo. the weight distro is based on a non-moving vehicle. once you start moving forward some of that weight (energy, anyway) will transfter to the back of the car. you'll probably want a little bit more in the front for autocross. |

Re: weight distribution on the F-bodies?
ok, for auto cross, you want perfect distribution. S2000, and RX8 i belive have 50/50 while moving, its nuts, but it is possible, you have to have = amounts of wheight over the tires for auto crossing. i have a 52/48 in my z24, and its top three every time

Re: weight distribution on the F-bodies?
So how much wweight apparently shifts to the back during forward acceleration?

Re: weight distribution on the F-bodies?
none...weight doesnt shift, the torque action of the rear-axle lifts the front end of the car. thats why the back sinks down and the front lifts up. the weight distribution stays the same, just some cars have enough torque to lift the front end off the ground (see 93RS's sig photo)...
