95 TSi

I found a '95 Talon TSi locally for about $5300...i think thats what the guy said. The chassis has 110k on it, but there is a new engine w/ about 30k on it. New tires .New clutch. Ill prob paint it, there is a small dent in the door and a small crack in the taillight. Nothing too big. You guys say this is an okay deal? The guy said he had the engine tested for crankwalk, and it was clean. And the turbo supposedly pulls pretty hard. We'll see, im gonna go drive it Friday!
Besides the normal: oil leaks , leaky turbo, and under the oil cap, is there anything else to look for or does it sound like a winner?Thanks...

Re: 95 TSi

I'm not sure but I think that it's to much for a 95 car, cause I think that if the engine is of 95 it has been a rebuild that it's not good when you want to sell it. But that could be a good deal if you want that car to use it a lot (for a lot of years), you can be sure that you will have a lot of fun, I bought a 98 tsi awd and I love it and I paid almos the same, i rebuild the engine, and change the clutch of the a/c and thats it!!!
Good luck, I hope that this help.

I understand, thanks for the help. And i should be able to talk the guy down a whole lot, since its a "my family knows their family" type thing.

Yea, and another question while ive got the thread open... How hard is it to take off the spoiler?...i cant stand that thing. And when you take it off, is there anykind of gap underneath it, or is it just like the eclipse hatches?

Re: 95 TSi

that is an average price, and it is normal for a 95 to have a motor rebuild. make sure that the turbo is in good shape.
